I’m so excited–the National Military Working Dog monument at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, home to the Department of Defense Military Working Dog Program, is being dedicated this morning. It’s so much fun watching the various board members of the John Burnam Monument Foundation post pictures on Facebook. The development of this monument was featured at the back of TRINITY: MILITARY WORKING DOG (release September 2012). I met John Burnam as well as Richard Deggans, one of the board members, the year before at a dog walk in Plano, TX. On a different, but related, note, one of the elements of being a writer is connecting with readers. My mission, I’ve always felt, is to create awareness, to open dialogue about things related to the miltiary.
