  • Submit your entry for the grand prizes by collecting the clue on each author’s scavenger hunt post and submitting your answer in the Rafflecopter form at Stop #31. Many authors are offering additional prizes along the way!

INTRODUCING

It’s my great honor and privilege to host SIBELLA GIORELLO for this Scavenger Hunt. She’s a skilled and talented writer, and she’s someone I respect and admire!

It’s the little town that could: Leavenworth, Washington.

Leavenworth, Washington during the annual Leavenworth's Town and Tree Lighting

Leavenworth, Washington

Back in the 1970s, this town was flat broke. But the town leaders–all descendants of good German stock–came up with a crazy plan to turn things around: They would turn Leavenworth into a replica of their homeland in Bavaria, Austria.
Unbelievably, it worked. And how. Today, Leavenworth attracts more than one million visitors each year. Sleigh rides at Christmas. Hiking the alps in spring. Summer outdoor theatre (“The Sound of Music” is perennial favorite). And in autumn, Oktoberfest.

And murder. Well, that’s what I thought about, spending many days in Leavenworth researching my latest mystery, The Waves Break Gray. Here are my three favorite things about this special place:
• The mountains. Air as crisp as green apples. Shock-blue sky. Granite peaks that stab at heaven like serrated knives (okay, see, crime fiction again…)

• The food. Bratwurst and onions roasting over flaming grills. Pastries with roasted apple filling. German chocolate that hits the taste buds like a drug (oh, sorry, it’s a habit).

• The people. Each morning, as we ate homemade cinnamon rolls, this gentleman (ed: photo) would climb onto the very edge of the hotel’s balcony, balance carefully, and blow his alpenhorn. The tone of this horn is somewhere between a pleasant song from an elephant and an air raid signaling we’re about to be bombed (I really can’t help it!)
You probably don’t want to travel with somebody like me who sees (maybe even hopes for) danger at every turn, but if you ever get a chance to visit Leavenworth, do not pass up the opportunity.
This little slice of Bavaria will steal your heart. (That’s just a saying. Right?)

Everyone has a plan, until life crashes in

Raleigh Harmon earned a brazen reputation during her years with the FBI. Now, having parted ways with the Bureau, she hopes to rebuild some of those broken relationships—including a new romance with alpha-male agent Jack Stephanson.

That’s the plan …

But when a dead body literally crosses her path in the mountains of Washington state, Raleigh’s forced to choose between her personal life and her forensic skills to track a killer–a killer unlike any she’s ever encountered, and a murder with clues that don’t add up.

When she realizes the killer will strike again, Raleigh knows the only way to stop another murder is to put herself at the top of the killer’s list.

With innocent lives on the line, and the FBI watching her every move, can Raleigh save another innocent girl from a gruesome end–or will she only wind up with more regrets, and literal dead ends?

Praise for the Raleigh Harmon series:

“Giorello has won the Christy Award and has received two Pulitzer Prize nominations. When you read this book, you’ll see why.”

The rafflecopter form asks for my secret code that I should receive when I confirm my subscription to your newsletter, but I’ve already been subscribed for awhile and so have no way of receiving a confirmation email with a code again. Does this mean I can’t enter the giveaway? Was it only meant as a giveaway for new subscribers?

I signed up for your newsletter a while back and don’t remember my code. May I still enter to win? If it’s only for first subscribers that’s fine, but thought I’d ask.
