I don’t have a favourite dog story :O( I don’t remember a time when we didn’t have a dog. Probably the most memorable dog was our Cairn Terrier who got hit by a car and ended up having her front leg amputated. I remember praying every night that God would make her leg grow back and every morning I’d take a look to see if my prayer was answered. Her leg never grew back but her loyalty, love and enthusiasm for life never wavered. She never complained about her “ailment” but carried on with life as though having 3 legs was the most natural thing in the world. Such lessons we can learn from our pooches.
My favorite dog story is Marley and Me. I read the book several years ago and never quite understood how a dog could be that misbehaved…that is, until we adopted our three-legged English Pointer, Spunky. He is the most mischievous, destructive, and hyperactive dog I have ever met, but he is also one of the sweetest, friendliest, and inspiring dogs at the same time. Having three legs hasn’t slowed him down in the slightest 🙂
My favorite dog story from childhood would probably be the movie Snow Dogs. We used to watch that one all the time! I’m not a huge dog fan but my family has had a total of 6 dogs (we still have 3). The newest addition is a mutt that my family bought back from a mission trip in the DR.

Oooh! I have two favorite dog stories!! I love Old Yeller! My dad read it to me and my mom and we all cried at the end of it… We even watched the movie! I also loved reading Where the Red Fern Grows… That was another awesome story!! I think dog stories are really awesome, I think those are like on the top of my favorite genres of books! 🙂 I can’t wait to read Trinity’s story!! 🙂
My favorite dog stories are Bolt and Snow Dogs!
I’ve never met a dog i didn’t love! Puppies are always puppies, never grown up dogs, and kittens, well, they become cats in a hurry. We’ve always had dogs around, and right now we have two rescue dogs (they’re still called that when they find you, right? I love all the novels about dogs mentioned, but then there’s Charlie Bear story…told in blogs right now, but coming out in a book soon, i hope. It’s the story of Charlie Bear and his journey from the streets to his forever home! i’ve been following TJ Taylor’s blog as she tells his story.

Beautiful cover and an equally beautiful dog!I don’t have a favorite dog story that’s a book but I did have a favorite dog. My parents rescued a 4 yr old collie from the Humane Society when I was 5. He had been badly abused and burned with cigarettes by his owner. He was not my choice of dog(he looked horrible, I am ashamed to say that to a 5 yr old I wanted a pretty doggie) but my parents were convinced he would be a good dog for me, and they were so right! He became my best friend for 14 yrs. From the first day we brought him home I was the only one that he would let brush his tail. No idea why but anyone else would get a warning growl (he never bit anyone), then they would hand me the brush and he would happily lay there and let me brush to my hearts content. From then on he was known as Annie’s dog! Even thinking about him now brings tears to my eyes. He was so precious! Once he began to trust us he was loyal and protective. And he turned out to be so incredibly gorgeous!!! His name was Rex and I have never had another dog that measured up to his awesomeness 🙂

Old Yeller is a favorite. I loved Homeward Bound too. I have to mention Lady & The Tramp, since they just rereleased it!
My favorite book is a book I picked up for my 5 year old step-son. It’s called Farley Follows His Nose. I found it and fell in love with the story, about a dog that gets lost while following his nose to his favorite scents. The drawings and storyline are heartwarming, and the story pulls you in. I made the mistake of not buying the book after standing in Toys R Us and reading the whole thing – twice. It took me over a year to find the book again, as I couldn’t remember the title. I searched for hours and hours, and finally, thankfully found it and ordered. And after only having the book in my possession for 3 months, it has been worn out, and I am certain I have it memorized.
Nice Cover. Can’t wait to read it. I love dogs. My favorite dog story is the movie Chips the War Dog. How appropriate for this. 😉
While I don’t have a favorite dog movie, I did like K-9, K-911, and K-9-P.I. (aside from the bad language).

It’s not a dog movie, but I LOVE the dog in Sweet Home Alabama. In fact, I convinced the guy I was dating at the time to name his new puppy, a black lab, Bear after the dog in the movie. When we broke up, I missed Bear more than him. 🙂
What a beautiful dog on the cover! I love shepherds. I have a black lab who is 13 now.
My favorite dog story as a kid was Balto. I must have watched that film a hundred times. I never really liked Old Yeller because it was so sad.

As for my favorite dog story…I’d have to say Savage Sam. While I didn’t like Old Yeller (didn’t like that the dog died at the end!), I did like Savage Sam with the same boys later on, when they’re taken by Indians. That would always be my vote to watch whenever we had a movie night. 🙁

It’s too hard to pick a favorite dog story. I loved Where the Red Fern Grows and Call of the Wild. Homeward Bound and Milo & Otis are STILL two of my favorite movies. But if we’re including movies, I probably have to go with Old Yeller. It was the very first movie I ever watched on VHS. We didn’t have a VCR at home, so we rented it and watched it in my dad’s office at the church. It’s also the first movie I ever remember crying over. I was six or so, and I wept for DAYS about that movie. I used to sing the theme song all the time and get the lyrics hopelessly wrong: “Here Yeller. Come back Yeller. Best Biggone Dog in the West.”
I enjoyed watched any dog movies but I think one of my favorite Disney movie is Lady and the Tramp. My favorite scene, I am sure everyone knows the famous scene, is where they had shared a string of spaghetti over their Italian dinner on the red and white checkered tablecloth while listening to the waiters playing music.
Also the dogs are man’s best friend. They share a bond together. Dogs protects people and serve as working dogs for the deaf blind and blind people. I used to have a German Shepherd dog when I was young. A protective dog.

I cried during Where The Red Fern Grows, both the book and the movie. I don’t really have a favorite dog story. I refuse to watch Old Yellern because I know what happens. I even cried in I Am Legend. Okay, enough sad dog stories. I’m looking forward to your new series. I know it’ll be great!
My favorite dog stories as a kid were Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows. My mom read them both to me and my brothers and we totally fell apart at the end when they die. Mom says she didn’t know what to do with us because we were sobbing so hard. She was worried she had scarred us for life 🙂
My favorite dog story wasn’t necessarily about a dog, but it’s the one I remember the most. When I was little my mom read to me the entire Little House on the Prairie series. I was home schooled, so we could read whenever we wanted. One particular day my dad came home for lunch to find me sobbing in our living room, mom was trying (with no success) to console me. Dad was so confused and asked us what happened. “JACK DIED!” I sobbed. lol I loved Laura’s dog, Jack, so much and his death totally got me. My dogs are my babies. We had to put my dog, Meg, down almost a year ago. She made it 7 years with the epilepsy that robbed her of so much life. My heart still aches for her. I fought for her every time she had a seizure. Her eyes would be blinded immediately afterwards so I would sing her lullabies to help ease her panic and calm her breathing. After doing this for so many years, whenever she heard my voice she would run to me. She was scared almost all people, except HER people. She was a 100 lbs lap dog who didn’t know the meaning of ‘personal space’. 🙂 Well, I guess I shared my favorite dog story, and a story about my favorite dog! 🙂 All that said I cannot wait to read Trinity! The cover looks awesome!
When I was a kid, I LOVED animals! The more heroic ones were my favorite. My mom was quite stunned one day when I, her spunky 5-year-old, calmly informed her that when I grew up, I was going to be just like Balto!
A sweet memory I have is going to the movie theater with my mom to watch “Where the Red Fern Grows”. Can’t wait to read this book!!!
My favorite was “No More Dead Dogs” by Gordan Korman. . . finally a novel where the dog doesn’t die at the end!
My fave dog movie is Turner and Hooch! Not only is it classic Tom Hanks but that dog is just so ugly he’s cute! So excited for the new series!!! Can’t wait!
