Meet Chima from EMBERS!

Last fall, I talked with Sarah Grimm, owner/designer/genius of Grimmlies, about creating a Grimmlies version of Chima, the raqine from Embers. And now…here is she–CHIMA!! And for your reading pleasure, for those who have yet to read Embers, here is a snippet with Chima:      In the yard below, Klome stumbled backward from the den, using one of the corded whips and aiming it at the opening. Tili’s question froze on his tongue as the wood gate exploded. Shouts and screams. A second later, a raqine soared into the open, roaring. The sound vibrated against Tili’s chest. Zicri? But as the beast angled toward the den master, he saw the familiar red tinge to the coat—Chima! Klome shouted. “What …

Christmas at DisneyWorld

I’m a very traditional person. I like traditional decor. I like traditions–Christmas in a warm, loving home surrounded by family. But this year, my middle daughter is in the Disney College Program and couldn’t come home for Christmas. So, we decided to Christmas in Orlando. Phew! I tell you–I’ve been around enough people in those six days to fix me for life! LOL And we had adventure, too (more on that later, along with a rare-from-me not-so-PC commentary). Ultimately, the trip was exhausting but wonderful! I’m not anxious to repeat it, but I have no regrets!!

Creative Days

Well, thanks to my friend, Kristy Cambron, I’ve taken up verse-mapping, and thanks to many many creativists, I’ve started Bible Journaling. Here’s my newest picture from this Sunday’s message at Cornerstone Chapel.   Do you do Bible Journaling? I admit, it takes me a while to make these, but that’s a good thing–it helps me slow down, think about what our pastor or the Word is speaking to me. Our word is rush-rush-rush, so slowing down and contemplating is a good thing. 😀
