Lynette Eason Endorses TRINITY!
Y’all, I am beside myself. Lynette Eason, author of amazing romantic suspense titles, including her recent release, WHEN THE SMOKE CLEARS, has offered this fantastic endorsement of TRINITY: Military War Dog!! “Ronie Kendig strikes gold with book one in her new series! Gritty, honest characters that grab your heart and don’t let go. Heath, Jia and Trinity make an exceptional team. The suspense rocks, the romance sizzles and the danger escalates at a rapid pace. Ronie’s accurate and in the headlines portrayal make will make you get on your knees and thank God for people who are willing to put their lives on the line to fight terrorism. This is a book you won’t want to put down until you …
“Fan Art” Trinity cover
So I got the kewlest Facebook message this week from Cory Clubb. He’s been really cool on FB and I’ve enjoyed getting to know him a bit and have LOVED seeing his amazing skillz in graphic design. Cory said that the cover for Trinity, in his mind, didn’t really capture the essence of the story, so…he made his own. What do you think? Is that not RAWKIN?!?! I was so stoked and impressed that I actually asked Barbour if it was too late to use Cory’s concept/layout for the cover. Alas, their version of the cover (see below) has already been set up for catalog, etc., and Talon’s is already in progress (Beowulf too), so we’re too late. But I …

Sergeant Rex!
In my ongoing research (really, does it ever end?) regarding miltiary working/war dogs, a friend (waving at Kate Burnett) showed me a book I hadn’t heard about yet: Sergeant Rex: The Unbreakable Bond Between a Marine and His Military Working Dog. The handsome guy on the front lured me into buying it straight away. And let me tell you, this has been one of the best books on military working dogs–from a “active” standpoint. Sure, you can read textbook-style tomes or books that read more like instruction manuals, which will give you the gist of the story. Or you can read SERGEANT REX–-feel the heat, the torturous fear of walking IED Alley, sense the ominous presence of danger in the …
Babbie Mason’s EMBRACED BY GOD
Welcome to Rapid-Fire Fiction’s Fast-Rope Review of Babbie Mason’s EMBRACED BY GOD: Celebrating Who and Whose You Are. I know. You’re surprise. I don’t normally review non-fiction here unless it’s military- or research-related to my writing. But this is a real treat! About the book: Have you ever wondered, “Does God really love me? Do I really matter to him?” HE LOVES YOU. As a matter of fact, God loves you just as much as he loves His own Son. In the pages of this heartwarming, thoughtful and life-affirming 21-day journey, award-winning gospel singer, songwriter, and teacher Babbie Mason reminds you, when you know you are loved by God and that you are in His eternal plan, you’ll never again …

Music to Write By
So, I know there are authors who need absolute silence to write. I think you’d have to straightjacket me and put me in a padded room if silence descended on my life. You see, with four kids and three dogs, life around here is anything but quiet. And if it *is* quiet–there’s trouble. LOL Let me also state there are some songs/artists that I cannot write to because the music pulls me out of the story. The bands I listen to while writing are ones that have a natural rhythm that somehow matches the pace of the story and lyrics/beats that aren’t so distinct that don’t create dissonance. One of my favorite bands, Fireflight, is releasing a new album March …
Surrendered or Fighting?
I’m a writer and the way I work through things it to, well, write. So lucky ducks that you are, you get to hear my thoughts today. Today, I got some news that proved pretty devastating. It’s not just bad news. It holds the potential to be career altering. Life changing. After the boom got lowered, I went through the stages of grief: denial, anger…but I never made it past bargaining. Because who am I supposed to bargain with? See, here’s my “problem,” (which really isn’t a problem): I committed to the Lord that I would be surrendered to His will. I said, “Whatever you want Lord, that’s what I want too.” I’ve been around the block enough to know …
