National Military Working Dog Monument

I’m so excited–the National Military Working Dog monument at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland, home to the Department of Defense Military Working Dog Program, is being dedicated this morning. It’s so much fun watching the various board members of the John Burnam Monument Foundation post pictures on Facebook.

The development of this monument was featured at the back of TRINITY: MILITARY WORKING DOG (release September 2012). I met John Burnam as well as Richard Deggans, one of the board members, the year before at a dog walk in Plano, TX.

The pictures posted below were taken and are the property of Kristie Dober, a JBMF board member. I hope you’ll celebrate with JBMF the dedication of this beautiful monument! Next year–I’ll be back in Texas and I’m going to make the trip down to see this amazing monument!

Love the way the morning sun cast shadows of the statues on the monument wall! Gorgeous photo!

I wish I could have seen this. Who knows? Maybe a trip to San Antonio is in order soon. Don’t know if you remember, but I live in Waco and work at the VA here.
By the way, thanks for the book. I loved it. πŸ™‚ I’ll have to get the next one.
    Thanks for posting this!
    In Christ,
    Renee
