Hey, Peeps! As many of you probably know, my twin boys have been on the great Asperger’s adventure since they were about 5 years old. Well, I’m having a glitch with my website’s calendar, so I wanted to make sure y’all know about these upcoming events: Christian Author Day at Books-A-Million – October 19th 2 – 5 pm Arundel Mills, Baltimore, Maryland. Capitol Christian Writers – November 11 7-9pm 10520 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 I will present my Rapid-Fire Your Fiction, a talk on pacing and movement in scenes/chapters.  

So, I’ve been working on a YA fantasy series, but I’ve also been a longtime reader of the genre. In the hopes of getting my series published, I started wondering about covers. What covers are selling, what’s not…and I thought about covers that made ME buy books, or at the very least, take a closer look. What follows are covers and my opinions, for what they’re worth: While I didn’t buy Enclave (not really into the zombie “flesh-eating Freaks” (as one reviewer put it) thing), this cover made me check into the content. And even the publisher’s blurb was well written and intriguing…again, until I realized what the “Freaks” are–really.  I really love the striking orange/red/gold tons in this  cover, …

Well, tonight I returned from a quick, quasi-unexpected trip to DC where I got to hear Brad Thor speak then walk through the rain with my hubby. A wonderful evening! Anyway, so I just finished Raptor 6 and turned it in to my editor. I’m so pleased with that story, which is more thriller than my previous novels and ends a little differently. So, when I got the cover of Raptor 6, I was absolutely thrilled with it. So much, that I told my husband I wanted to get a poster made of it. Today, the FedEx truck pulled up and I was dumbfounded.
