Wolfsbane is Back!

Ronie Discarded Heroes 4 Comments

Hooah!! Thrilled to share with you that Wolfsbane has survived the intense and expansive editing and updating to get this story up to speed with my more recent novels. Admittedly, I was a little shocked–I  found several mistakes, plot holes, logic jumps, too-quick transitions, etc., so I worked some finesse on them and sent them off to the amazing Rel Mollet. When the novel came back from the formatter, we were stunned to discover it was 100 pages longer than the 2012 edition, which won the Christy Award for Excellence in Christian Fiction. A Rapid-Fire Rewrite of the 2012 Christy Award Winner–Expanded & Updated with 100 new pages! Army demolitions expert Danielle Roark narrowly escaped a brutal guerrilla general. Months …

The Discarded Heroes

Ronie Discarded Heroes 7 Comments

You Rapid-Fire Fiction readers amaze me! You’re attentive and passionate, and I treasure y’all! Many of you have noticed and emailed me that the Discarded Heroes series is no longer available as ebooks…and you’re exactly right. Technically, they are officially out of print. (If you are inquisitive enough, you’ve also figured out the A Breed Apart series is out of print, too…but it will be a bit before that series gets a makeover, because there’s only so much of me and far too few hours in each day. *sigh*). Bummer, huh? NOPE! The great news is that the rights to the Discarded Heroes series have reverted back to me. So, I’m working feverishly on some minor editing/tweaking/revising (cuz, y’all–wow, some of these tactical scenes …

Robert Liparulo endorses DIGITALIS

Ronie Barbour, Digitalis, Discarded Heroes, Robert Liparulo 4 Comments

Okay, I’m particularly excited to share this endorsement for DIGITALIS, Discarded Heroes #2, with you because it’s from…ROBERT LIPARULO. If you haven’t guessed by the frequent mentions of his writing by me on my blog, Facebook, and other social media sites, Robert Liparulo is one of my writing heroes. I’ve yet to read a book by him that I didn’t love and sail through. His stories are exactly what I love to read–and he “gets away” with a plot device that I have long wanted to include in my stories (and in fact, *did* include in Dead Reckoning but was asked during the content edit to remove): implanting a tool, weapon, or device that’s not “real” (yet!) but so close …

WOLFSBANE cover revealed!

Ronie Barbour, Discarded Heroes, Wolfsbane 5 Comments

I am thrilled to share the WOLFSBANE cover with you. Barbour and I went back and forth on many things on the cover, and I so appreciate their willingness to do their best to “get it right.” Here is the blurb from the proposal for this story that is very near & dear to my heart: Wolfsbane – July 2011 – Former Green Beret Captain Canyon Metcalfe is unnerved when Nightshade is sent to a South American jungle that holds an eerie similarity to a dark tragedy from his past. Addicted to painkillers, Canyon struggles to hide his secret. Escorting Danielle Roark, a demolitions expert who knows the location of a secret nuclear weapons silo, proves treacherous when they’re ambushed …

NIGHTSHADE Trailer!!

Ronie Barbour Publishing, Discarded Heroes, Nightshade 1 Comment

YOU READY FOR THIS? *GRINS* In one month, Nightshade will release to the unsuspecting public. Until then…you have this to help you prepare. I just received the trailer for NIGHTSHADE. Misty Taggart and her team at TRAILER TO THE STARS did a fabulous job with it, don’t you think? A review: This intense story full of action, is also full of emotion and life. Men dealing with issues they hadn’t planned on. Surprise after surprise and bomb after bomb set this adventurous trail with the reader racing to the end. I found myself crying and smiling and hated it when it ended. ~~Jan Crow, Katy Budget Books, Book Buyer Have you pre-ordered your copy yet?

This & That – Nightshade!!

Ronie Barbour Publishing, Discarded Heroes, Nightshade, Ronie Kendig 2 Comments

In an attempt to catch everyone up (there are gobs of you reading this blog, right?!?!) on what’s happening, I decided to do a quick post. So, here goes. First – The galley of Nightshade is now available through NetGalley. If you are a professional reviewer or a librarian, you can apply to receive a digital copy of the galley. I’m so tickled–I downloaded it onto my Kindle, and it brought me to tears reading Nightshade like a real book (as if it’s fake or something, right?). Hehe. Second – Nightshade can now be preordered through many online retailers. It’s amazing to see this book coming to life and gaining some recognition. My hope for this series is to open …

SNEAK PEEK!

Ronie Barbour Publishing, Discarded Heroes, Nightshade, RelzReviewz 1 Comment

I am so excited. Within the next couple of days, I hope to be able to reveal the cover of Discarded Heroes book #2, Digitalis. I got to see it last week and nearly exploded (*kersplat*). Barbour has done a fabulous job, and it’s sooooo amazing to see the series unfold and come to life. For now…my awesome friend Rel Mollet has a small feature on Nightshade (releases July 1st!) for your viewing pleasure on her blog, RelzReviewz. I’ll hope you’ll peak at it and leave a comment, just a small way of showing appreciation to Rel for featuring them–and she’s the first, so how kewl is that!?!? Blessings, y’all!!
