I am giddy (hey, I’m a girl, it’s allowed) to promote John Olson’s latest release POWERS!! I have to tell you, I think this is his best book yet. It has a break-neck pace and leaves you absolutely breathless. It’s been a while since a book had me reading this fast and this immersed. PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT TO WIN A COPY OF POWERS!!!** Here is the official information on POWERS: “Bury me standing. I must be buried standing.” Powers, the follow-up to John Olson’s Shade (“a must-read for those who enjoy Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti” —Publishers Weekly), introduces a sheltered Gypsy girl named Mariutza. Her grandfather utters a mysterious last request before dying in her arms after being …

From September 17-21, 2008, more than five hundred writers, agents, and editors converged on the Sheraton Bloomington in Minneapolis, MN for the American Christian Fiction Writers annual conference. I worked throughout the conference in a few different capacities, but it was still a superb time! I met with the incredible Barbara Scott, my editor (hey! I actually have an editor now!!) from Abingdon Press. In all honesty, I didn’t expect her to remember much about my story since I knew she was working on the macros for multiple other books at the moment. But she had an uncanny recall! And it was so clear to me that she caught the vision and passion for Dead Reckoning. I’m absolutely amazed and …

John Olson’s SHADE

Hey, everyone! Hope you’re having a great week! Our kids start school next week, and I’m looking forward to everyone being in a solid routine again. It is with trembling and shaking that I review this next book. My big brother and friend, John Olson, has Shade releasing next month! John’s latest masterpiece is a work that is creepily chillifying! Doctors say Hailey Maniates has paranoid schizophrenia. Melchi, the hero, warns her that what she’s seeing is supernatural! I’m telling y’all–this is a story where you have to trust. You know the kind like Sixth Sense and The Others, where you have to just enjoy the ride…then again, is it safe enough to trust? Who knows what portals that trust …

First – before I do the meme, I *have* to rave about a new book put out by B&H Publishing. The day I received Shadow of Colossus by TL Higley in the mail, I gasped. I’d been at the B&H website the week before absolutely drooling over the cover and story synopsis for this book. I was THRILLED to read it, but realyl nervous, too–ya know how it is. You see a book and think it’s going to be fantastic, but when you read it… So, my fear of being let down kept me from reading it for a few days. THEN! I finally caved to my HUGE curiosity, and started reading. Shadow of Colossus is one of the most …

Betsy tagged me with this blog game! Here’s the rules: Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating! Find page 123.Find the first 5 sentences.Post the next 3 sentences.Tag 5 people. The book closest to me at the moment is Taming Rafe by Susan May Warren. So far, I LOVE it–Susie’s one of the few writers whose writing actually grab me and don’t let go, much like Rafe’s grip on that bull rope–yeeeouch!! I think Susie is one of my writing heroes…or should that be heroines? LOL I’ll be doing a post for her blog tour on this novel soon, so stay tuned for more details on this great read!! Here’s p. 123! (which I haven’t …

Please contact me privately with your mailing information. Now, to share just a tad more about my conference liberation. LOL It’s such a tongue-in-cheek term for something so powerful and freeing. I haven’t been the same since, and I’m guarding my heart so I don’t end up back there. I was sitting with my close bud Dineen Miller, and she was praying over me. I had this visual image in my mind of a rod–like the steel rods they use to line the ground before pouring concrete. When I saw it, I just …
